The main objective of the event was to celebrate their diversity, oneness as a church and as people of southern Africa who are followers of Christ. The event which was attended by U.C.C.S.A churches from Southern Africa including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia and Botswana aimed to encourage the development of the churches' music ministry. The theme for the day was simply 'Christ is calling: participating in suffering and struggle'.
In his speech the Reverend Prince Dibeela said that through music, the masses have been able to frighten those with weapons of war by speaking to their sensibilities and reminding them of the common humanity."Through music I hope that we can participate in the suffering and struggles of the peoples of Southern Africa by singing songs of joy, hope and resilience," he pointed out
