Treble -Clef brings Orchestra to Botswana

Orchestra is not a popular musical genre in Botswana but all that could soon change. Treble-Clef Promotions, in partnership with the European Union (Botswana office) are embarking on a project to give aspiring young orchestra performers a platform to showcase their talent.

Treble-Clef Promotions' Reggie Kopi told Showbiz that the competition, called Classical Soloists, would start auditioning hopefuls on April 28 in Francistown.  The other auditions will be conducted in Gaborone on May 5.  The 10 hopefuls selected through the auditions will undergo "rigorous music training" for a period of six months after which the ultimate winner will be selected during the finale in November.

The winner will walk away with a P50,000 prize and get a chance to go and study music abroad, according to Kopi.
