The Botswana Council of Women (BCW) which holds the licence of the Miss Botswana pageant has engaged a new events management company to organise the event.

This is the latest development for the Miss Botswana pageant despite the ongoing court battle between the BCW and the previously engaged events management company, 63 Entertainment.Due to the court battle, the competition wasn't held last year and the Miss Botswana 2011 first princess Tapiwa Preston was selected to represent the country at the Miss World 2012 pageant.  Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, the Chairperson of BCW Executive Committee Bogadi Ngwako announced that there will be a pageant to crown the queen this year. She stated that they have engaged the services of Pleasant Worthy, which is owned by entertainment business mogul Tops Masole, which is in a joint venture with another company, Sweet Baint.  The signed contract between BCW and the company is for three years.  Masole is no foreigner to the entertainment industry.  He recently took over, revamped  and renamed the old Chez Ntemba club to Trekkers.  Masole also owns another version of Trekkers in Maun.  Both the clubs are crowd-pullers and are popular among night crawlers.  For his part, the frontman of Sweet Baint, David Abram expressed optimism that they will bring a fresh element to the pageant.

He said that Batswana should rest assured that the pageant would be a success because they have experience in the industry. According to him, Sweet Baint has been at the forefront of organising the Botswana Music Union (BOMU) awards and was at the helm of the production of Miss Botswana in terms of providing sound, stage and lighting, when 63 Entertainment was the main organiser.Abram further said that they are expected to have forwarded the Botswana representative's name to the Miss World board by the first of April, therefore they are working around the clock to put the pageant together.
