Three artists get Presidential honours

A folklore guitarist, a traditional music coordinator and a Bible translator were among the recipients of this year's Presidential honours recently.

Well-known guitarist, Andries Bok, whose guitar skills inspired many folklore players in the 70s and 80s, was awarded a Presidential certificate of honour.  Traditional music coordinator, Gaolope Basuhi, the name behind the development and preservation of cultural music through troupes like Mogwana, Reetsanang Association of Community Drama groups, and Botswana Music Camp, was also among the recipients.

For his work in translation of the Bible into Setswana Rev Martin Morolong was also honoured. He is said to have translated the Bible into Setswana from original Hebrew and Greek texts.
