The rise of Maghebula from nobody to stardom

FRANCISTOWN: He has developed from a mere village boy at Sefhare in Tswapong South to becoming the leader of the now defunct Dijammogo Dance Troupe that struggled to capture the attention of many across the country; to embarking on a solo vocalist career who realised his dream of breaking the hard to penetrate local music industry and eventually making a huge impact as a traditional musician.

That alone defines soldier-cum-musician, Alfred Keorete popularly known as Maghebula, in the music circles who typifies the proverbial rags-to-riches story of how one's perseverance and hard work eventually pay off and translate into one achieving their goals and ambitions in life. Interestingly, Maghebula - from an unknown traditional group, Dijammogo in which he was the lead singer and group leader - has remained modest and humble and has never made it a secret that his desire can only be realised through hard work.

While the majority of his fellow musicians in the traditional music arena have fallen by the wayside or are struggling to make it big in the industry, the innovative artiste saw an opening where others never dreamt to ever venture:
