A play called The Mother of All Eating left the audience puzzled as the reality of the escalating rate of corruption was "brightly painted" through a gripping performance by Tefo Paya portraying a principal secretary to a government minister in Lesotho.

The one-man satire play was showing at Maitisong Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday. Adapted and produced by Makhaola Ndebele, it depicts the scourge of corruption in the southern Africa in particular and on the African continent in general.

The story that is centred at Lesotho's capital city Maseru highlights the corrupt acts displayed by state officials who enrich themselves through government deals and funds. This secretary was a very corrupt, greedy and selfish man who could not restrain himself from taking advantage of his rank in government to plunder national resources. He cheated and would do anything to get all that he wanted (money). When the play starts this corrupt man gets home but finds his wife gone. He looks everywhere but does not find her.
