Thapong hosts multi-media experience

360 degrees was launched over the weekend at Thapong Visual Arts Centre in the Gaborone Village.

Veryan Edwards, who was the first Chairperson of Thapong when it began in 1989, is back in this combined, interactive multimedia art experience with two other local artists, Keatlaretse Kate Kwati and Ivy Radipodi that this month focuses on "Make a Choice".

Edwards is well-known to the community in Gaborone.  Her key contribution in Make a Choice is "... and the river ran through it" a mixed media installation, that challenges the viewer and according to the artists interlaces slavery, colonialism, a history of violence-symbolised by "the chains that bind us"-while the river is our Spirit that courses through each of us and provides the sources of hope for the future when we look at our values and explore life.  She believes that each of us has a choice about what we do with our lives.
