Teacher to showcase his artworks

FRANCISTOWN: Crawford Mandumbwa, who is an artist and art teacher at John Mackenzie, will host a solo art exhibition at the Frame Gallery, situated in Fairgrounds mall, in Gaborone next week Wednesday.

The Former Minister of Education and Skills Development and ex-Ngami Member of Parliament Jacob Nkate is expected to officially open this one-day exhibition.  Mandumbwa confirmed this in an interview with Arts & Culture.

Mandumbwa, who has been a teacher at John Mackenzie for a decade now said that his chosen mediums for his works are paint and acrylic.  "The theme of my art works will be one way of sharing my ideas, observations and interpretation about certain life events with the public.  My works will also include reflections of day-to-day life activities of ordinary people and how they appreciate and embrace live.  That is the reason it is themed 'Embracing Life'," said Mandumbwa, who is also a member of the Thapong Visual Arts Centre.  He added that proceeds from the sale of his products would go to charity.
