Talent galore as Map turns 40

Maruapula Family Fun Day organised over the weekend to mark the school's 40th anniversary was an unqualified success. The school had many events on the programme that kept everyone off their feet with stalls, entertainment and tasty dishes from different countries across the globe.

All the stalls that sold the mouth-watering dishes had food cooked by students' parents from different countries such as Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, China, United Kingdom (UK), Jamaica and other countries .The variety of salivating dishes  caused a rush as  food samplers seemed to be curious to taste the wide variety. The curiosity made some people go back for some more as they could not resist the tasty dishes and beautiful experience they were given. Some  stalls show cased their products such as the honey, African attires, Safari t-shirts and bags, wall decorating cloths with a variety of animal prints and Botswana Zebras t-shirts. Between some of the food stalls and the park stood a stage on which later on the day a various Maru-A-Pula music groups such as  Madic Boys entertained the guests with some unforgettable hip hop performances. As the group performed everyone who was at the park and nearby stalls including parents rushed to see beautiful performance given by the young men, Tlotlo Magamole, Mpho Phale and Duncan Sam. The hip-hop brothers charmed their peers who danced their soles off as others and some parents watched and took pictures.

After their departure, Dj Ms Kels, whose real name is Keletso Kelly Ramputswa drove the crowed even crazier with her good mix tunes. Ramaputswa who is a former student of MaP class 2003 made everyone eat on her palm as she served the audience with fantastic hits, from hip-hop to house. She kept people on their toes for about two hours as they danced to the beats. The female Dj who seemed confident on what she was doing left the students and friends asking for more.
