Stars of '80s festival flops

Revellers were expected to jam the Recreational Park in Molapowabojang for 10 Stars of '80s Charity Music Festival, but only a handful turned up and danced the night away in the pouring rain.

It would make sense for one to assume that the deluge prevented many people who had wanted see the likes of William Mthethwa, Dan Nkosi, Om Alec Kgaoli, Sidney Mogopodi and Ali Kat, in action.

These were the yesteryear's biggest stars and it was a rare opportunity for one to see them in the flesh. But not even the rain or the small crowd could deter these stars who, to many people's surprise, have not lost the sparkle which made them household names in the '80s and early '90s with hits such as Mama's Baby by Sidney, 707, Orlando, Push Sekorokoro, Zekuru by Om Alec.
