Krzysztof Kieslowski's The Dekalog, ten short films of less than 58 minutes each on one of the Ten Commandments, was released for Polish television in 1988. Number Five on "Thou Shalt not Kill" and Number Six, "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery", which can be translated into "Thou Shalt be Faithful in Love", were made in to full-length films. All of the ten short films in the Dekalog were filmed in a large apartment complex in Warsaw, as are the two feature films. Tuesday's film is called A Short Film About Love.

A Short Film About Love is about two people, both single, and their ability to love. Tomek (played by Olaf Lubaszenko) is eighteen, has never been with a girl, is a fearful virgin with an obsession for a woman who lives across a courtyard from where he rents a room. A previous tenant, his friend had been watching Magda (wonderfully acted by Graznya Szapolowska) from his darkened window with binoculars.
