S/Phikwe-based hip-hop artist to release 20-track album

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Selebi-Phikwe-based Hip-hop artist Bishop Marumo is intent to up his game, with the release of a 20-track album entitled Like Father Like Son.

This week Marumo told Showbiz  that the album will be released in September. According to the musician, the the album is dedicated to his father who passed away in September last  year hence its release month.Marumo, who raps in both Setswana and English has explained that he decided to combine the two languages as he was mainly targeting the Botswana and South African markets; the two countries where the languages are widely spoken.
"My Setswana rap is not motswako. I am a conceptual street conscious rapper. My album strives to accentuate that. My music can be listened to by anyone, even people who are not necessarily keen on hip-hop music," he said.

He also shared that he is still negotiating with a certain record label to release the album alongside his Guerrilla Puff clothing merchandise. He pointed out that he has been in the music industry since 1998 and he co-founded a hip-hop group called OFF ARMY.
