Unheralded Zimbabwean muso Eddie 'Speaks' Mutede and his Botswana counterpart, Dithuso 'DT' Selepeng have jointly remixed the popular Mozambique folklore tune, Tote with incredible dancehall flair.

The song, made popular by Afro Sunshine back in the day and South Africa's Jimmy Dludlu, will soon hit the airwaves both in Zimbabwe and locally. Mutede, previously based in Cape Town, South Africa savours his link up with the Botswana artist. The two have known each other musically for over a decade."We've taken that song and thrown in some vibe and good energy. I love the flow and I am too excited about it," Mutede told Showbiz.

The song was produced by Tawanda Benson, who has previously worked with the likes of Vee. Benson said he was heartened by the award-winning musician's commendation when he heard the song last week."I'm really cheered by Vee's remarks about this song, he thinks it's been excellently done and predicts it will be a hit. But I cannot take all credit for it because Eddie and DT have put a lot of work into it. Their distinctive styles blended in so well in the song," Benson said. The duo have given the song a modern, youthful touch with Mutede doing a bit of rap while DT chips in with his usual reggae flair. Mutede has also worked in the film industry in Johannesburg, South Africa and well as an engineer before moving to Cape Town six years ago.
