Botswana songbird Slizer rekindled her romance with Zimbabwean fans when she dished out a song dedicated to President Robert Mugabe, whom she said was her idol, reports the government run Herald newspaper.

"Music is a universal language that bridges cultural gaps and brings people together. With pride we have observed that our local language, Shona, is quickly becoming a favourite of many international artists with Tswana songstress Slizer (real name Naledi Kaisara) being the latest to succumb to the beauty of our language," the Herald raved on.

The pencil-slim dancer inserted some Shona lyrics into some of her songs during her performance at the 21st February Movement Gala held at the National Sports Stadium last Friday.  Slizer pencilled a song for President Mugabe to congratulate him on his birthday and she further endeared herself to her fans when she performed the song in Shona, Makorokoto Gushungo, serenaded the Tswana babe, much to the delight of the revellers.
