Seetso Sets the tone as My Star show gets underway

This year's edition of My Star promises to be a tough battle if the electrifying performance that some of the top 34 contestants displayed at the show's launch is anything to go by.

Although most of them were still shaky and lacked stage confidence they gave spectators who turned up in huge numbers value for their money.  The singing competition that is in its sixth year has proved to be popular among locals who filled the Botswana Television (Btv) Auditorium to the rafters and some had to sit on the floor.  No contestant went home however, as judging will only start on Friday.

Among the singers who were outstanding was Ikageng Seetso. Probably the youngest competitor Seetso kept the audience mostly women on their feet with the song Can You Feel The Love Tonight.  The audience that looked not so familiar with most words from the song were always ready to join the chorus as Seetso had them eating out of the palm of his hand. True to the saying that looks could be deceiving, the deep voice that emanated from Seetso's petite body was just amazing as he simply blew the roof off.
