True to the saying that music is a universal language, a communication barrier did not stop enthusiasts who graced Salif Keita's show on independence eve from enjoying his sounds though most of his songs were in French.

The West African's face did not show any emotions as he sang, making it even harder to read what the song could be all about. But still that did not deter music lovers from screaming at the top of their voices, especially at the start of each song.

There was literally no communication between Keita and his fans as the only English phrase that he used was "thank you" at the end of each song.
