Ras Juda flies Botswana flag high in NZ

Reggae artist Ras Juda has been raising the Botswana flag in New Zealand where he is based.

Known as Samuel Seomeng, Ras Juda relocated to New Zealand in 2003.It has been a long journey for Ras Juda who started his music by playing indigenous instruments like segankure and setinkane back in his home village of Thabala near Serowe. 

"I started playing the guitar in the early 90s," reflects Ras Juda who recently paid a visit to the land of his birth. Back then he played for the Artists reggae band, which was based in Mahalapye.  Since it was all happening in Gaborone, the band trekked to the capital city in 1997.  But when they came to Gaborone, things did not work out and the reggae group disbanded.
