Rainbow, Westwood, Maru-A-Pula art students hold exhibition

An annual exhibition by students from Rainbow, Westwood and Maru-A-Pula schools opened at the Thapong Visual Arts Centre on Monday evening.

In its fifth year, the exhibition by the three private schools, ends on March 25. One of the paintings on display depicts a naked pregnant woman while a photograph shows the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

There are other excellent paintings by the art students.  One of the organisers of the exhibition said they select works by the best art students from the three private schools.  "It is just an appreciation of art," he said, about the exhibition.  Above all, the exhibition is also about having fun by the students.  He describes the exhibition as a celebration of art in the participating schools.
