Prince's journey onto the radio airwaves

Prince Dimpho Koontse Masololo is the type of presenter who is easy to relate to and feel connected to. Born over 30 years ago in Serowe, Masololo was a very loud and outspoken kid. As a young boy he dreamt of becoming a lawyer and people often said he was very good at expressing himself. By the time he was in high school, his dream changed to aspirations of his becoming an army officer:
"In those days being in the army was every boy's dream," he points out. He goes on to confess that he was always on the list of noise makers in class as he was very naughty and a free spirit. Being a talented dancer, Masololo would dance for his mother's friends and entertain them- as a token of appreciation, he was paid for it:
"I was very clever and I used my talent to make money," he recalls with a giggle.
The young man was also a gifted singer and sang in both the school and church choir. Singing, as he told Art & Culture, came naturally maybe because he comes from a family of musicians; his mother sang in a choir and his father was a guitarist. Masololo, who attended school at both government and private schools, was also a member of debate teams- which didn't always win:
