Persevering Dipstrada to release album soon

Ofentse 'Dipstrada' Nkabiti is living proof of the saying, 'if at first you don't succeed, try again'. After several attempts trying to break into the music scene without any luck, he finally released a series of hit singles and is due to release a full album in the near future.

The House-Kwaito lad from Kanye says determination and passion are what kept him going all along despite the numerous dead ends he encountered.  After signing onto several recording deals and with production companies, he finally signed up with Roc Lefatshe Records which marked the beginning of his journey to stardom."I started singing in the church choir, and in 2002 I formed my own crew that didn't make it. In 2004 I recorded a song that also didn't see the light of day. In 2006,  I signed with Rodman Productions, and in 2009 I changed record labels when I moved to Serowe and still had no luck," he said.

It was only after Suffocate of Roc Lefatshe Records discovered him in 2011 that he was finally able to secure a recording deal.He says when he started as an artist; Namibia was an easy target to establish a fan base so he decided to make himself known there before moving back home. He said: "My music was a hit in Namibia, I wanted to use that opportunity to market myself outside Botswana since by then, my local fan base was unstable."He explained how the move worked for him looking at how he has been able to establish his local fan base and has created a name for himself. This progress he finds encouraging enough to believe that there is still room for growth. He said: "I chose to release singles before an album because I want to build a stable, well-known brand. I also want my fans to look forward to the next single before I can release an album." He said to date, he has released four singles that have received airplay from local radio stations as well as in Namibia. "I have had my music play on Base fm and Unam Radio, both from Namibia, and was added in the All Nations Mix tape which was played all around Africa," he proudly said.  He also says that his fourth single, Indoda Yakho, has a music video.
