Ngoni's art pieces simply captivating

High profile painter, Wilson Ngoni, opened yet another exhibition at Thapong Visual Arts Centre in Gaborone on Saturday, with captivating pieces and top-notch presentation. His works of art, are finely painted to make the ear dance in a meleko style; as his work is widely known.

Titled Back to Basics, the two-week exhibition brings under one roof the pair of Ngoni and Gaemeone Modisane's works to an audience, which never ceases to be wowed by Ngoni's brush.  A recurring theme in the exhibited works is the basic lifestyles of Batswana, women going to the cattlepost, homesteads and donkey carts.

Upcoming artist, Modisane of Kopong village in the Kweneng District, showcased alongside Ngoni 36 oil paintings in what Modisane called a it lifetime opportunity.  He displays his works to a larger audience for the first time.  The artistically bestowed father of The Pregnant Skeleton's work somewhat buried Modisane's work.  With art at his heart, Modisane however draws much attention to his work for he uses basic yet important themes to highlight his pieces.
