Never easily give up - Wareus counsels youth

Former Miss Botswana and current Miss World first princess Emma Wareus says there is a difference between failing in school and failing in life.

Addressing the youth in Kanye on Monday, the beauty queen said there were many dreams to be pursued but that often people give up after failing at the first hurdle.  Wareus said from a young age she knew she wanted to be a beauty queen and that she was never going to let disappointments derail her dream.

"I entered for Miss Botswana first in 2009 and failed to win the crown and when I entered in 2010 I was criticised and discouraged, but I remained positive.  I was not going to give up my dream like that and I eventually won," she said.
