My Star show starts in earnest

About 200 aspiring singers on Saturday queued up for auditions for the annual Botswana Television (Btv) music talent show, My star. The auditions were held at Yarona Country Lodge, Mogoditshane, with the female folks outnumbering their male counterparts.

The show continues this weekend in Lobatse and in Palapye the following weekend, with aspiring contestants parting with P200 to register for the auditions.

The star show is in its fourth year and has been consistently entertaining Btv viewers. The winners of the competition are usually taken to the United Kingdom (UK)  for sight seeing. They also have their albums released by the producers of the show, Pop Star Botswana, owned by Master D Sesinyi, a local reggae artist and businessman.
