Museum solicits help

The Bonnington farm and its ruins have been declared a heritage monument.

The first phase of the Silos has already been developed. The site will be transformed into an Open Air Museum.  The history of the place, which once belonged to the Le Cordeur family, is made part of a history that will be restored.

Phorano Gaogakwe, the Director of Museum and Monuments asked councillors and the general public to partner with the museum in efforts to complete the restoration and collection display at the Open Air Museum (OAM) on Friday.  He made this appeal during the ongoing Full Council meeting at the Gaborone Council Chamber.  He made a request for funding to enable restoration of artifacts, building of platforms and shades as well as the development of OAM.
