Motswako star gunning for American award

Mafikeng-man HipHop Pantsula, who horned his Motswako skills in Gaborone and co-owns a recording company with a Botswana promoter, Seabelo Modibe, is proving that Motswako, that rap made up of Tswana and English lyrics, can appeal beyond African borders, even in the USA!

The South African hip-hop star, also known as HHP, has received a prestigious nomination from the Black Entertainment Television (BET) awards.

HHP, a popular face in the local  cell phone company, Mascom wireless billboard, is nominated in the Best International Act category. K'Naan from Somalia - who sings the 2010 World Cup official anthem Waving Flag - also got a nomination.
