They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this is what talented multi-media artist, Moratiwa Molema displayed to tens of art enthusiasists at the No.1 ladies' Opera House on Saturday.

The  latest Moratiwa exhibition is a rhythm project inspired by the African movement. The night began with the audience being treated to a short and brief musical dance drama which showcased their talent, skills and ability to tell a story only through stage act, leaving the viewer to decipher for themselves the meaning of the  silent movement and gestureculations. Moratiwa tells Showtime  that the rhythm project is a multi-media extravaganza which is an experiment to match traditional and contemporary visuals on a world stage. "One can say that, this piece is a celebration of rhythm and humanity because rhythm is what is common in every culture and this piece of drama was demonstrating our Setswana rhythm as that is who we are so we are doing this by being original and taking it to another level," she pointed out.

After a warm performance that seemed to have stolen everyone's attention, next on the list was a showcase of some of her work which included a few handmade sketches and portraits which many liked and some artwork done by other artists she works with. The video artist, film maker, painter and performer also told ShowTime that most of her work is inspired by worthless things like scraps so she also contributes to saving the environment by recycling. "The event went better than I anticipated because I could see the reaction I got from the audience and feedback was positive," she said with a smile. One of the people who attended the event, Thabiso Tsholofelo who is also an artist at Thapong visual arts centre could not stop showering praises on Molema.
