The crew started off with a beautiful piece entitled, Kgosi kgolo. This piece was about the relationship of a chief and his tribe where there is much interaction. In this beautiful piece, body language and flexibility sent a strong message that the audience had to interpret looking at the way the dance play was displayed.
In this short piece of dance, there was a singer who sang the famous traditional songs usually sung at the Dikgotla or during initiations. They rendered Tlotlang kgosi e kgolo, a song that is particularly popular among Bakgatla in the Kgatleng District.
It underscores the indispensable role women play in our society, particularly in building strong households and nurturing families.
