Alliance Franaise was on Friday packed with people from all walks of life who came to witness and show support to Mmaphala Letsatle who was launching and giving people a sneak preview of what they should expect in her album which due next month.

The afro soul singer's album 'Sphere' was well received by the crowd after she gave a spectacular show in her performance of the songs. The 39-year-old's career dates back to 2000 when she first started as a back-up singer for the famous soul singer Momo of Ule fame. Mmapahala, a former local tennis star, has also worked with leading local producers, Solomon Monyame, David 'Ski' Molosi and Leroy Monageng all of whom enriched her growth, thereby giving her confidence to consider producing her own album.

It takes a brave person to quit a good job to follow a dream - and this is exactly what Letsatle did. Even though she attracted much criticism when she made the decision, she knew that one day she  would succeed. She shone as lead vocalist for the band, which she was a part of called 'Unity Band' and which was hired mostly for corporate shows and weddings. This is the time when it actually dawned on her that it was high time she tried it as a solo artist and in 2005 she began writing her own songs.
