Miss Universe aspirants in fashion parade

Taking a leaf from the bigger Miss Botswana, organisers of this year's Miss Universe Botswana staged a fashion show at Riverwalk Mall on Saturday in a bid to introduce their 12 finalists to the public.

In contrast to the Miss Botswana fashion show, however, the Mos Syd Entertainment-organised event was badly planned, starting a few minutes after 1pm, despite advertising scheduling the event for 9am.

Further, despite the 12 girls' best efforts, the show decidedly lacked glamour, and it is questionable whether it was able to serve part of its purpose of promoting, and luring people to get tickets for, the beauty pageant's finale, to be held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on July 23.
