Miss Botswana promotes culture at Miss World

Miss Botswana queen, Karabo Sampson says she will thrill her counterparts with a dance from one of the country's minority groups, the Kalanga.

Karabo jetted off to the United Kingdom (UK) for the Miss World finals in London on Tuesday, wearing a two-piece suit made from theGerman print. The German print is considered a traditional attire, but the designer, Lesedi Matlapeng, added a touch of modernity there, designing a stylish pair of trousers and a top that epitomises Karabo's youthful exuberance and style.

Coming from the southern tip of Botswana, where the Kalanga dance is not so popular, perhaps Karabo's choice reflects her broad mindedness and appreciation  of Botswana culture. The Kalanga dance is from the far north. She seems to have chosen to go north, where her Miss Botswana charity project on Improving Maternal Health is also based.
