Miss Botswana leaves for world event

Miss Botswana, Karabo Sampson left yesterday for London to participate in the Miss World pageantry on November 6. Two members of her family will be with her for eight days in London to provide emotional support.

Karabo's close family members have told Showbiz that her mother Ajelita and elder brother Phepo will take the eight-day self-sponsored trip to be with her during her three-week stay in London.Last year Emma Wareus, who was accompanied by her mother, did Botswana proud when she was crowned Miss World first runner-up (first Princess) in Japan.

Speaking at the Sir Seretse Khama airport on Tuesday to send off her daughter, Ajelita, was accompanied by husband James Hoteit and another son Tlamelo. She and Phepo will fly to London next month. Ajelita said they budgeted for the trip as soon as they learnt that Karabo has won the Miss Botswana crown.
