The previous winner of the Thapong Aritst of The Year (TAYA) young artist category, Mmoloki Matlale, has shown an element of growth in the current Thapong Members' Exhibition at the centre with his two untitled pieces.

Although Arts & Culture has previously decried that most artists seem to mount artworks that appear hurriedly prepared, Matlale has proved that he took the exhibition seriously with his impressive oil on canvas pieces.  One of the untitled pieces captures a scene at what looks like a cattlepost or masimo with a man bridling his donkeys and another a group of zebras in the wild.

Other works worth checking out at the exhibition are Pramod Kumar's Golden Eagle & Girl and Guntargui.  Although this reviewer got to see the works of this particular artist for the first time ever, there was something eye-catching about them and one can safely guess that they were inspired by folk tales from the Far East.
