Mapetla, machesa star at udf launch party

After a hectic day of launching their new party, the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) at the GSS grounds during the day, the newly formed party continued their celebration at Notwane club on Saturday that saw the likes of Machesa, Captain Dira, Ashley Gops, Moribo cultural group, Mapetla and Tyte doing what they do best on stage.

The event attracted a large number of patrons donning party colours. As different artists took turns in entertaining the audience, Machesa seemed to have people under their wing as they set the stage on fire with their latest tracks. Moribo Cultural group also did not disappoint as people sang along to their songs. Mapetla seemed to be more famous with the ladies as he stole their attention more singing his popular hits. When asked if they are being paid for performing, the artist told ShowTime that they have volunteered their talents as a way of helping the party as they themselves are also concerned about the laws in the entertainment industry that disadvantage them from making money. "We are trying to project messages in different ideas that is why we choose artists to diserminate messages to the youth as a way of trying to reach them," said Segokgo.Familiar famous faces that graced the event include the president of BNF  Duma Boko, chairman of BMD  Nehemiah Modubule,BMD president Gomolemo Motswaledi, Gabriel Masie, MP Winter Mmolotsi.The event was a preparation for   2014 campaigns.

BMD youth president Phenyo Segokgo told ShowTime that the money raised on the event will go to the operations of the daily administrative operation of the party.
