Majalisa's rough ride to success

 From 1986 Majalisa has been entertaining crowds around the world and endearing herself to many people's hearts. With her trademark heart-warming smile Majalisa always makes sure her fans connect and become part of her performances.

In the studio she has proven her versatility, able to rave between Mbaqanga and Disco to produce a unique brand of music that has kept her and popular band Splash in the game for over two decades.She has penned down tracks that are a mixture of fun and serious life scenarios.  Many of us who admire her warm smile whenever she goes on stage assume that the stocky musician's life is all rosy.  But behind the smiles there always have been rough moments some of which brought so much pain that Majalisa once contemplated suicide.  She grew up not knowing her mother only thinking that her paternal granny was her biological mum.
