Jazz maestro Mtukudzi set to perform at Botswana Craft again

Zimbabwean jazz maestro Oliver Mtukudzi is billed for the Botswana Craft at the end of this month.

Tickets for the show during which Mtukudzi will be sharing the stage with high riding local artist, Tumediso 'Shanti-Lo' Loeto, are already on sale at P250 each.This will not be Mtukudzi's first show at Botswana Craft as he has performed at the venue in the past.  At one time Mtukudzi performed at Botswana Craft with his son, Sam, who has since died in a road accident.  His last show at the joint was last year.  Mtukudzi draws a considerable following in this country. 

According to Wikipedia.org, Mtukudzi, who was born in 1952, has been in the music industry since 1977.  He started his music career with Wagon Wheels, a band, which also featured another Zimbabwean guru Thomas Mapfumo who also performed at Botswana Craft last year.With his husky voice, Mtukudzi has become the most recognised voice to emerge from Zimbabwe.  He has earned a devout following across Africa and beyond.  He also incorporates elements of different musical traditions, giving his music a distinctive style known to his fans as "Tuku music".  Mtukudzi has a undertaken a number of tours around the world, staging shows in places like the United States of America (US), United Kingdom (UK) and Canada.
