Jazz lovers got an early dinner in the expansive food court as jazz maestro Banjo Mosele and Trans Kalahari Jazz Quintet took turns to dish out exciting live and outdoor jazz performances.Jazz aficionados wined and dined under a serene setting, while taking in notes and tones from the bands. Those that were new to the scene learned that jazz acts do not speak much during performances. They let the music do the talking. And at the Botswana Craft arena, the music spoke for close to five hours, as guests kept their eyes glued on the stage, carefully listening and seemingly not wanting to miss anything. The tried and tested instrumentalists plucked and played with guitars strumming sweetly, while drums, the piano and other instruments worked together to create sounds of a night that looks set to be etched on the minds of many.
As expected, Mosele delivered a five-star performance that earned him a standing ovation."My voice is very clear and the crowd has been fantastic. It's quite an astonishing crowd," he said after his first set.He took fans through his repertoire, belting out tunes including Mampi, Selina and Tsiakwano.
