Japanese dolls simply heart warming

In Japan even the smallest and simplest things mean a lot and natives find them so intriguing they document them in art works.

The ongoing Japanese Dolls Exhibition at the National Museum and Art Gallery in Gaborone does not only demonstrate the passion the Asian nation has for its culture, but shows that the people take keen interest in the little things that their children do.

The Gogamatsu dolls on display, for instance, depict the Japanese boys' festival normally held on May 5. On this day families with sons display splendid sets of miniature armour and figures of costumed warriors and pray for their sons' to grow into healthy, strong men.
