'I don't like loose ends'

Haywire (2012) aka Out of Control is now at the New Capitol Cinemas. Released in January this year, it has taken its time getting here. Surprisingly, it is one of two reasonable films showing on the menu of what is available currently in Gaborone. It is annually disappointing how many Hollywood duds are being projected worldwide during the back to school months in the United States of America (US).

Out of Control is perhaps a better name for this action thriller. It is about a hit woman, who works for a company that contracts with spy agencies like the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to do jobs for them that they are not prepared to do anymore, having supposedly become more politically correct. But things have gone haywire. You'll have to concentrate and figure out who has gone out of control - the company, the agency, the agents, or our heroine herself?

This film is a steady vehicle for the unusual talents of Gina Carano, a champion fighter, very tough and hard looking when her adrenaline is up, and a beautiful, gracious feline woman when her internal chemistry has relaxed. Now 30 years old, she is brunette bombshell from Dallas and Las Vegas acting in only her second film.
