How investible is Botswana arts?

Although Batswana are remarkably beginning to appreciate the visual arts many are unaware that art collection is a viable investment.

When an individual buys a piece of art, the same artwork might prove to be priceless in the future. Today some renowned artists including trendsetters in the industry amongst them Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh just to mention a few, sold their artworks for millions of dollars.  This means that any art collector who owns an artwork by any of the said artists can easily make millions from a single sale.  According to the coordinator of Thapong Visual Arts Centre, Reginald Bakwena, Batswana should consider investing in local art.

"I want to urge all Thapong artists to work hard to satisfy their clients by offering quality products at all times," Bakwena said in an earlier interview adding that artists must also have good customer service in order to attract potential clients.
