Guitar star's touching predicament

If folklore guitarist Andries Bok could turn back the hands of time he would reverse his age, start attending school and upon completing his studies look for a decent well paying job in an air-conditioned office.

He does not know when he was born and the only way to find out is through the health card or Omang both documents indicating that he is 55-years old.The popular musician, whose artistry has transcended across generations, lives in abject poverty in his home village of Werda in Kgalagadi, full of regrets and with very little hope for the future.

His wife died in 2011 and although he has siblings, only his elder brother Tsotsi Bok and mother Meiki Bok have assumed the roles of caretakers.  They live in a dilapidated structure made of wood and a few patches of mud.  It is clear this family suffers a lot during rainy seasons and feel the full wrath of the biting Kgalagadi winter.  But this is the man whose track has been the signature song for a popular Tsa Temo Le Leruo programme on Radio Botswana (RB 1) for decades now.
