It started as an afternoon of fun, hitting golf, sipping beer, enjoying burgers, and one evening of Dignash comedy, continental dinner with wine, energetic performance by Charma-Gal of Re sia le Matebele, and then a whopping P400, 000 was raised for charity.

Newly-appointed Assistant Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Vincent Seretse, who also played some golf earlier on, says P310, 000 was raised during the golf day as tens of local companies and their directors poured at the Gaborone Golf Club in their flash cars to play golf and interact with the Botswana Democratic Party bigwigs. The other P90, 000 was raised in pledges during the dinner.

The glittering golf and dinner event was put together by the BDP to raise money for charity and Seretse says all the funds will go towards helping the community. Acting Vice President Ponatshego Kedikilwe and Party treasurer, Satar Dada, said the golf and dinner event is an initiative by the party to reach out to the corporate people that are usually missed during political rallies.
