German trio dazzles local jazz lovers

Patrons at the Millennium Jazz Restaurant in Mogoditshane were treated to an unfamiliar menu on Sunday.

This time around they were treated to sounds by Celtic Fusion, a German trio that played anything from jazz to Irish folk songs.  The Germans shared the stage with one of Botswana's ladies of jazz, Nono Siile and still managed to captivate the audience with their distinctive brand of sound.  To show that the revellers appreciated the music, they started to invade the dance floor even though they seemed unfamiliar with the melodies.  During their performance, the members of the band interacted with the audience, explaining their music.

Group member Norbert Volker told Showbiz that they enjoyed performing at the Millennium.  They were also happy that people seemed to appreciate their music.  But he rated their Saturday show at the Gaborone Sun as the most successful.   Volker said they were looking forward to their show at the Botswanacraft where they would collaborate with local artists Kabelo Leburu and Stampore this Saturday.  After individual sets, they will jointly perform with Leburu.
