Fun galore at desert race

All entertainment routes this past weekend were leading to the Toyota Kalahari 1,000 kilometres desert race as multitudes of tourists from all over the country and abroad descended around the village of Kumakwane to enjoy the annual event.

The popular event proved once again to be one of the biggest sport and entertainment action attraction in the country. From family fun day, camping and night crawlers, everyone had their own piece of fun during  the three-day event. That ran from Friday to Sunday. A huge crowd, among them Members of Parliament (MPs) and children were at the race starting  point in Kumakwane early Saturday morning to get a thrill of the vehicles roaring from the starting line to begin the gruesome 1,000km distance.

The spectator points spread all over the routes were also filled with spectators cheering at  their  drivers and riders of their choice, while at the same time having their own fun with music. Saturday night saw  revellers gather at any entertainment spot around the race area to dance away the winter chills while awaiting the final day of the race.
