Fighting women and children abuse with spectacular poetry

Recording spoken word poet Berry Heart is on Friday staging a live poetry show as an activity for the 16 Days of Activism on Violence Against Women and Children in Gaborone.

Expected to attract an audience of 350, the poetry and music night at Maharaja (8-10pm), is meant to change the lives of the victims of gender-based violence, to mentor and edutain, as the poets would be focusing on themes of the 16 days, which include HIV/AIDS, gender-based violence, among others. 

To be staged under the auspices of Poetry For Thought (PFT) the poetry and music extravaganza will be headlined by Maun-based Poetavango poets and musicians like Berry Heart with Seragantswana, folklorist Ntirelang Berman, multimedia artist Moratiwa Molema, Pearl Khumo, Phenyo, Glam Kerry, Kefilwe Matlho, MC Mosa Podile and Edgar Pelekekae of Botswana Television (Btv) Flavadome.
