Female DJs aim to conquer a man's world

It is a tough world out there where even macho men are not guaranteed their place.

Yes, one does not need to be muscular to convince night clubbers to come to his/her next gig, but few have made it in this industry with names like DJ Fresh (Thato Sikwane) immediately coming to mind.  The late Tebogo Maribe (DJ Bass) might have not scaled as high as Fresh before he met his untimely death, but was definitely one of the finest.

Many have tried and failed while some should thank those who offered them jobs at certain radio stations because "their voices remain popular" while their live performances would be a far cry from what the fans had imagined before going their shows. However, we are still to see a successful female DJ and it must take a lot of courage for a young woman to stand up and say, "I want to be a club DJ".  But Lerato 'Fizz Pop' Lejage and Osenotse 'Faith Beatz' Mangope say they are ready to muscle it out with the hunks and establish themselves as the country's top performers.
