EMI boost for Zeus

The ambitious Hip Hop ace, Game 'Zeus' Bantsi's move to South Africa is already paying off with prospects for his next album looking brighter than ever following a partnership that bonds him with global music publishing giant, EMI.

After his move to Johannesburg late last year, the reverred rapper struck a partnership with EMI-licenced company, Octave Couplet, a development that enables him to reap huge benefits in terms of collaborations and access to state of the art equipment. Zeus revealed that he was already in the process of recording some songs for his next album.

"We have already seen good benefits - musically, the kind of access to resources that a major label has does wonders to one's music. There is also the aspect of bigger and better studios as well as access to certain individuals in terms of collaboration or in terms of publishing. A label like EMI has a lot of rights to a lot of old classic big music which makes it easy for you to work with in terms of both the content and its owners," Zeus told Showbiz in a telephone interview.
