Fans of South African gospel star Benjamin Dube had to wait until midnight before he took to the stage after 11pm.

He was expected to bless gospel music crazy fans at a dinner and concert at the Maharaja hall in Gaborone as early as 6.30 pm. However, when he eventually turned up, he put up a splendid performance that only Dube is known for.

The show had been scheduled to start at 6.30 pm, but a two-hour delay saw it kick off at 8.30 pm.  At the time, the crowd's patience had already run thin and many could be heard grumbling as local acts, including Gaamangwe Lebele, the Healing Stream Quartet and Tshenelo Mosimane, took turns to entertain the crowd.  The organisers had to keep apologising with the master of ceremonies (MC) jokingly saying "Pastor Dube in 10 seconds" several times.  Dube finally strode onto the stage at 11.25 pm and hundreds of screaming fans moved closer to the edge of the stage.  Clad in a shiny black suit and spotting his trademark stylish haircut, Dube opened the show with the song, When I Think About Jesus.  Thereafter, he belted out the song Ngiyamthand' uJesu, which got a resounding response from the fans. It was followed by the song Humble Yourself.  Dube, who seemed to have accepted that his fans would not leave the altar area, then performed the song, I Feel Like Going Home.  It is a soft worship song that moved the crowd to lift up their hands in acclamation as they continued to sing along with passion.  He had a way of connecting with the fans, as he interacted with them during the performance.  He followed up with You Brought Me Over, I'll Rise Again and Ithuba Lokuthandaza.  He closed the first segment of the concert with the song Vus' Okwakho. Neyi Zimu, Dube's protege, took over and performed a few of his songs.  He capped a decent display with the song You Are Holy.
