When he started at places like the then popular Sunbeam Club in Kanye in the 80s, the most popular music genres were jazz, disco and Tswana pop made popular by the likes of Jonny Mokhali and Steve Kekana.But as the music world revolved urban vibes such as kwaito and house took over with such technologies as CDs, DJ Vavo felt a little left out.
As fate would have it Lobatse-born DJ suddenly develop a keen interest in jazz and classical music and it turned out to be his life as he found a new home at Millennium Jazz Restaurant as resident the DJ while he also received bookings to perform at other events.He had started his deejaying in his hometown and as they say "home sweet home" and for this popular jazz deejay the return has been fully optimised to serve both his passion and financial interests.
