Dazzling Bollywood night in Gabz

The charity event, organised by the Botswana Ladies Circle, was to raise funds for Botshelo Trust, an organisation which runs a child care centre in Shakawe. Patrons had been encouraged to dress up in traditional Indian attire for the night, and despite the biting cold many embraced the dress code - with the women turning up in colourful saris and the men in sherwanis and kurta pajamas.
But it was the entertainment that really lent the night the atmosphere of Bollywood - that cinema industry known for its dance sequences characterised by subtle flirtation and large bursts of colourful clothing.
It underscores the indispensable role women play in our society, particularly in building strong households and nurturing families.
