The Tlokweng born woman rose to fame in 2010 when she was a contestant on My Star. The judges were a bit hard on the aspiring artist and told her that she was not likely to become a star. D-Nice did not let the critical words deter her and instead let them motivate her to work even harder.
After My Star, she became a back up singer for a popular Jazz sensation called Trinity, an experience that she believes helped to develop her as a singer.
